COMMUNS
COMMUNS is a collage of old and new where the garment serves as a register of the past and offers our modern times a means of connection to ancestral experience. In the materials used and methods employed to create them, Communs’ designer SAI draws upon practices that have been left behind by the wheel of progress and renews them. Every detail and experience is valuable, therefore nothing is thrown away. In this more sustainable model of creation, the past informs and often merges with the present to create the future.
COMMUNS is always looking to improve garments where practicality and aesthetic appeal exist in harmony with one another. The function is fulfilled without any sacrifice of joy, just as the joyfulness of the wearer is prioritized without being to the detriment of functionality and confort.
